Becoming a domChapter 5
Posting and workflows
Posting decides less than people hope. This chapter covers marking adult media on X, spreading the risk across accounts, a rhythm you can keep, and the pressure tricks to spot as a reader.

Evidence
In 30 seconds
- Reach depends more on the account and the platform than on how good one post is.
- X allows labelled adult content from drawn and generated characters too, so mark each post that needs it.
- Give every account one job, and never let the persona depend on a single account.
- Keep a rhythm you can hold. One you resent won’t last.
- Some captions and promotions are written to push. Read them as the person they’re aimed at.
You will learn
- Why one post tells you almost nothing about your account.
- What X actually writes about adult media, and what’s only scene folklore.
- How to split a persona across accounts without making a mess.
- How to run a launch, a collab or a themed month.
- Which posts and promotions are built to push a reader, and how to answer them.
A careful post can vanish and a careless one can travel, and nobody can tell you which in advance. What you control is how you mark your work, how you spread the risk and how you keep going without the feed taking over your week.
Vivian
One post tells you almost nothing
ReachreachHow many people actually see an account’s posts. It’s an account’s main asset and the main driver of a dom’s income, and it depends mostly on luck and account standing. depends on the account and the platform more than on the post. In my experience a weaker post from an account the algorithm favours can get many times the views of a careful post from one it ignores. Hours of editing predict nothing: a long intro can flop while a plain picture with one word travels. One post tells you almost nothing, and its first fifteen minutes tell you even less. Look at several posts before you judge an account, and don’t take a slow start as a verdict on your talent. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study.
A post that travels says nothing about the person behind it either. Lots of views don’t make a persona someone you can trust. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study.
Folklore. The scene repeats a lot of rules about reach. They’re listed here as folklore, so you can recognise them and weigh them yourself. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study.
- A brand-new account gets pushed hard at first, so a fresh account is the best place for a launch. Repeated a lot, never measured. UnverifiedPlausible, not proven yet.
- An account is healthy only if one post has reached a few hundred likes without a label. That comes from one creator’s habit, and there’s no published figure. UnverifiedPlausible, not proven yet.
- Posting very regularly and repetitively looks like a bot and hurts reach. Someone’s guess, never tested. UnverifiedPlausible, not proven yet.
- Keep links out of the bio, never tag anyone and post once a day to be favoured. Other creators disagree. UnverifiedPlausible, not proven yet.
- The picture and the caption together decide about 40 percent of how a post does. A guess with no data behind it. UnverifiedPlausible, not proven yet.
Marking adult posts on X
X allows adult nudity and sexual behaviour that was produced consensually, as long as it’s properly labelled and not prominently displayed, as of 2026-11-03. VerifiedChecked against the original source.Adult Content Policy (opens in a new tab) Accessed 3 November 2026. The same rule covers animated and AI-generated content, cartoons, hentai and anime included, so a drawn persona gets no exemption. VerifiedChecked against the original source.Adult Content Policy (opens in a new tab) Accessed 3 November 2026. Adult content isn’t allowed in live video, profile pictures, headers, List banners or Community cover photos. VerifiedChecked against the original source.Adult Content Policy (opens in a new tab) Accessed 3 November 2026. The labels are there so that people under 18 don’t run into it. VerifiedChecked against the original source.Adult Content Policy (opens in a new tab) Accessed 3 November 2026.
X gives you two tools, as of 2026-11-03. You can set your account to mark everything it posts as possibly sensitive. VerifiedChecked against the original source.Your media settings (opens in a new tab) Accessed 3 November 2026. Or you can put a one-time warning on a single photo or video: Nudity, Violence or Sensitive. VerifiedChecked against the original source.Your media settings (opens in a new tab) Accessed 3 November 2026. X also says it may use automated techniques to detect and label sensitive media, so your own marking isn’t the only label a post can get. VerifiedChecked against the original source.Your media settings (opens in a new tab) Accessed 3 November 2026. If an account keeps mislabelling its media, X may label it for you, and an offending profile or header image can get you a temporary suspension. VerifiedChecked against the original source.Your media settings (opens in a new tab) Accessed 3 November 2026.
Consent is a separate rule. X bans content that sexualizes or exposes an identifiable real adult without explicit consent, and the rule names AI-generated and manipulated media. VerifiedChecked against the original source.Non-Consensual Intimate Content policy (page title: Non-consensual nudity policy) (opens in a new tab) Accessed 3 November 2026. If your persona uses a real person’s face or voice, you need that person’s agreement.
What X doesn’t publish is the part creators worry about: what makes the classifier fire. When I measured it on my own pictures, the triggers were sheer or wet clothing, bodily fluids in a sexual setting and implied arousal, and bare skin alone didn’t get a label. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study. Other creators swear by other triggers, like any visible rear, and that stays folklore until X writes it down. UnverifiedPlausible, not proven yet. The classifier is also erratic. A mild image can get labelled, a fresh post can lose its label a few minutes later, and there’s nobody to appeal to in the moment. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study.
Marking costs reach. Not marking costs more. A marked post is expected to get pushed less. An unmarked adult post risks reports, and in the scene a single report has locked an account until an appeal was answered. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study. So plan around reports, and not only around reach. Some creators leave the account-wide setting off and mark only the posts that need it. There’s no data on whether either choice changes reach. UnverifiedPlausible, not proven yet.
Before an adult post goes out
Decide when you export whether the post needs a warning, and mark it yourself if it does.
Keep every character an adult, with nothing child-like in her look or setting, whatever the lore says.
Leave out any real person who hasn’t consented.
Keep adult material out of the avatar, the header and any banner.
Label what needs a label. Don’t tweak pictures to slip under the classifier.
Spread the risk across accounts
A persona that lives on one account can lose everything at once. Platforms close, freeze and restrict accounts, and a restricted account can lose most of its reach for weeks. The scene calls a search suggestion ban an SSBSSBShort for search suggestion ban on the main social platform: the account stops showing up in search suggestions, so reach drops and a new persona struggles to grow. The long form is a guess from how the word is used, because no platform document spells it out. Checking for it every day can wear you down.: the account stops showing up in search suggestions. Many creators keep a backup accountbackup accountA second account kept idle in case the main one gets closed. A platform may treat an account made to replace a closed one as ban evasion, and a closed account stays tied to a real identity, so a backup account won’t get you back in. ready. A backup account is there so you can carry on when a platform closes your account for a reason that isn’t a ban on you. Opening a new account to get round a ban breaks platform terms. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study.
This wiki doesn’t explain how to get around a suspension or a restriction. Read the platform rules before you open another account, and see Stay anonymous for the identity side.
X doesn’t require a real identity on a profile, so a pseudonymous persona is allowed, as of 2026-11-03. VerifiedChecked against the original source.Authenticity (includes the Synthetic and Manipulated Media rules; the old manipulated-media help URL now redirects here) (opens in a new tab) Accessed 3 November 2026. A common set-up gives each account one job. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study.
One account or several
Scroll the table sideways
| Account | Job | Main risk | Avoid |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main | Reach and the way into the community | Restriction or closure | Putting every launch there first |
| Archive | Older content and series | Looking abandoned | Treating it as the account that grows |
| Test | Trying a kind of content before the main account does | Almost no reach at first | Judging a big teaser by it |
| Send account | Handling sends, kept separate | Getting mixed up with growth work | Growing it in public |
Some creators spread a themed evening across accounts, one post an hour for about six hours, and compare how the same kind of content does before they use the main account. Big announcements go where the audience already is, because a new account has almost no audience. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study.
A rhythm you can keep
In the scene the usual aim is a post a day. Skipping a day or two is fine as long as the next post comes, and forcing output when you’re low gets you nowhere. After a quiet stretch, come back with something striking instead of more noise. Post at the hour that suits your audience’s evening, whatever your own clock says. Video is an occasional highlight, because a clip costs far more to make than a still. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study.
Replies are part of the rhythm. A slow answer to a private message costs you a session, and the pile of replies after a post is one of the biggest time costs of running a persona. Views aren’t sends, and a few good subs are worth more than a big audience. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study.
Posting is a chore, even for experienced creators, and comparing yourself to the feed makes it worse. Three things help. Read the timeline from a separate account that isn’t your findom account. Keep active projects to one or two. Step away from the social accounts for a few days when you’re burnt out. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study.
Edits, captions and launches
Captions. A caption has to say one clear thing. If it contradicts itself, or needs a paragraph to explain its visual metaphor, a fresh reader rejects it, so show it to someone outside before you post. An image alone is weak without words, and a picture the audience has already seen is weaker still. Captions written by a machine tend to feel flat. Write two or three sentences yourself and let a tool polish them. A promo image with too much text overloads the reader. A clean picture with the name and one call to click reads best. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study.
Files. An export can leak more than the picture. GPS data, provenance records and generation prompts can travel inside a file, and a browser encoder may add a colour profile by itself. The 2DFD editor, made by Vivian, is designed to strip this data, read the file again and refuse the export if anything is left. That’s what it’s designed to do. It doesn’t certify that it always does it. A teaser and a full version can be exported as a pair, the teaser censored for the public feed, with the same loop length. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study.
For a hypno edithypno editA short looped video or GIF with spirals, rings or words, made to be watched over and over. Accessibility guidelines say a page must not flash more than three times in any one second, unless the flash is below set thresholds. Flashing content can cause migraines, dizziness, nausea and seizures., the accessibility guidelines set the limit at three flashes in any one second, unless the flash is below the stated thresholds. VerifiedChecked against the original source.Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 (opens in a new tab) Accessed 3 November 2026. Staying under it doesn’t make a loop safe for everyone, so warn first and offer a calm version. The point where the loop restarts counts toward the limit. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study. See Hypno and edits.
Export check
Clean the metadata, then read the file again to check.
Look at generated pictures for stray text and anatomy glitches.
Export the teaser and the full version as a pair.
Count the flashes in any loop, including the point where it restarts.
Preview it at feed size, after the platform has recompressed it.
Launching a tool. Ship a decent first version and post about it. Say plainly what it does, what it costs and how to stop it. If it flops, post again, because a flop doesn’t mean the tool is bad, and public updates like v2 and v3 build interest. Have a promo picture ready. One image is enough for a familiar kind of tool, and an original one deserves a short video or a page. Don’t link to a site that isn’t ready. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study. See Techdom for what the tools do.

A collab can be cheap. Each persona makes a short loop of about ten seconds, and the two are joined into a duo video that both of you post. A reply or a quote from a bigger account can multiply the views of a smaller one, so put the terms of swaps and retweet games in writing. In a collab, you don’t use the other dom’s private material or lore unless she agrees in writing. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study. Custom emotes and stickers can brand a server. UnverifiedPlausible, not proven yet. Posting is where readers first meet a persona, and some posts are built to push them. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study. A sub who knows how these posts are built is harder to push.
| What they say or do | The counter |
|---|---|
| A caption that enjoys a falling balance, says the choice is already gone and ends with an order to empty the account | It’s a hook written for the feed to imitate compulsion. It describes the persona and says nothing about you. Close the app, check your limitlimitA spending limit picked by the person who pays, while calm, before the session. It’s held outside your own head, in a server that enforces it, a bank limit or a trusted person, and it only goes up after a cooldown. A limit typed in the middle of a session is weak, and a limit is a ceiling, never a target., and read The spiral if the wording felt true. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study. |
| A leisure scene paid for with the viewers’ lunch, fuel or rent money | It ties her comfort to your real expenses. It’s theatre, and your lunch money is still yours. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study. |
| A launch prize for the first people who send proof of spending | It pulls spending into the public feed and rewards the people most likely to overspend. No prize changes your limit. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study. |
| A post that shows a send landing, a balance or a ranking | Staged proof exists, and you can’t check a post. Treat it as advertising. See Spot a fake dom. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study. |
| A prefilled-post link, especially a shortened one | A shortened link hides where it goes. Check the destination and read the text before it goes out under your name. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study. |
| A private message from a persona soon after you liked a post | Messaging people who already engage is a standard way to turn views into sends. A message doesn’t oblige you to anything, and you can say no. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study. |
More pressure designs are in Pressure tactics, both ways.
On the dom side, the same rule works the other way. A sub may offer to be content. Share nothing that could identify him, and only with his real agreement, because humiliation content about a real person can follow him. If you’re not sure, don’t post it. Vivian’s field notesFirst-hand experience, not a study.
Your account lost reach after a week
You posted as usual and the views dropped to a fraction. You don’t know why. What do you do first?
- Right. A label or a setting is the easiest cause to find, and one week of data isn’t much.
- Too early. You haven’t found the cause, and a persona on one account is still the problem.
- Posting more doesn’t fix a label or a restriction.
- Nothing shows that the character decides reach.
